Our infant program curriculum is rooted in early childhood education and thoughtfully designed to support your baby’s age and stage of development. We believe play builds the foundation for learning, which is why our educators focus on simple, meaningful interactions throughout the day. Through responsive care, connection, and gentle play, your little one begins developing early language and communication, motor skills and coordination, and a strong sense of trust and emotional security. Our curriculum blends nurturing relationships with hands-on experiences, creating a warm environment where your little one feels safe, supported, and ready to begin exploring the world around them.
Daily Routine
We balance stable schedules with individual needs. Each day includes a warm morning welcome, hands-on activities, small group learning, outdoor play, and calm transitions. These predictable rhythms help your little one feel safe, confident, and ready to explore.
Classroom Experience
Our infant classrooms are calm, safe, and thoughtfully designed for discovery. Loving, responsive relationships help babies feel safe and secure, and our caregivers build strong bonds that support emotional development and early communication. Within this nurturing environment, sensory-rich spaces invite your baby to explore through sight, sound, and touch. Soft lighting, gentle materials, and carefully prepared areas allow your little one to move, observe, and engage with the world around them while building trust and confidence each day.
About Our Northern Denver Preschool Program For Infants
Choosing an infant care program means trusting someone with your baby during one of the most important stages of life. At The Academy, we take that responsibility to heart. Our early childhood education program is built on connection, safety, and nurturing care that supports your child from the very beginning. According to Zero to Three, the first years of life are critical for building the foundation of learning, relationships, and emotional well-being. That is why our infant care program focuses on responsive caregiving, strong relationships, and a safe environment where your baby can grow with confidence.
From 6 Weeks to 12 Months Supporting Early Childhood Development
During the first year, your baby is growing in ways that feel amazing to witness. From early smiles to reaching, rolling, and beginning to explore, every moment matters. At The Academy, our infant care program supports your child through these milestones with patience, warmth, and intention. Research from the Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University shows that responsive interactions between babies and caregivers help build strong brain connections. This is why our teachers focus on connection, eye contact, and meaningful engagement throughout the day.
Early Communication and Bonding
From the very beginning, your baby is learning how to connect and communicate. Our teachers spend time holding, talking, singing, and making eye contact with each infant throughout the day. Simple moments like narrating routines, reading soft books, and responding to your baby’s sounds help build early language skills. These loving, consistent interactions support milestones like cooing, babbling, and recognizing familiar voices, while building trust and a strong emotional connection.
Physical Development and Coordination
From reaching and grasping to rolling and crawling, every movement is a learning experience. We provide daily tummy time, soft play mats, and safe floor spaces where babies can stretch, roll, and explore freely. Teachers gently encourage movement by placing toys just within reach and support babies as they practice sitting, crawling, and pulling up. These activities help develop strength, balance, and coordination, supporting key physical milestones in a safe and nurturing way.
Social Emotional Learning and Secure Attachment
Feeling safe and loved is essential for your baby’s development. Our caregivers build strong, responsive relationships by comforting, soothing, and responding quickly to your baby’s needs. We follow your baby’s cues, maintain consistent routines, and create a calm environment where your little one feels secure. These experiences help babies recognize familiar caregivers, express emotions, and begin forming early social connections that support long-term development.
Exploration, Sensory Play, and Discovery
Sensory exploration is how babies begin to understand their world. In our classrooms, infants engage with soft textures, rattles, mirrors, music, and natural materials that stimulate sight, sound, and touch. Teachers introduce simple sensory activities like water play, textured toys, and movement with music to encourage curiosity and engagement. These experiences support milestones like focus, awareness, and early problem-solving as your baby explores with confidence.

My daughter has been going to The Academy since she turned 2. She's 5 now and going to start kindergarten in the fall. We love The Academy teachers and all staff. Everyone pitches in and has always been responsive to any requests/questions we've had. We get the regular updates to the app, which are also helpful. Love when we get the pictures. 🙂

We love Ms Nicole!! Our kiddo has such a close relationship with her. He has been learning so much in her class. Skills like dressing himself as well as daily routines and fun art projects. We love that he gets gym time especially when the weather isn’t nice enough for the kids to be outside. Everyday we drop him off knowing that he’s having a great time, learning, and feeling safe.

We have seen our daughter grow by leaps and bounds while in the trusted care of Sally and her team. Every morning we are greeted by name and a smiling face by the entire staff. At pickup time it’s usually a challenge to get her to leave because she is having too much fun.
